Hotel Berlin, Berlin welcomes Jan Henningsen as new General Manager

The accomplished hotelier Jan Henningsen will lead Hotel Berlin, Berlin as General Manager from September 2022. A native of northern Germany, Jan arrives with an already impressive track record for innovative leadership and a strong focus on guest experience having worked with some of the world’s best-known hotel brands and companies both in Europe and in the US.

The appointment comes at an exciting time for Hotel Berlin Berlin, following a significant investment program and extensive renovations, including the upcoming launch of the bold new food and beverage concept ‘Lütze’.

Jan-Patrick Krüger, Director of Operations Germany at Pandox AB, said: “I’m proud to have convinced Jan to accept this new challenge. Jan is truly a rare find: a hotelier at heart with an impressive international track record in hospitality. I can’t wait to see what his passion and drive will do for Hotel Berlin Berlin.”

Henningsen also spoke warmly about the opportunity to return to Pandox, having managed independent brand Hotel Bloom! in Brussels from 2012 to 2014.

“My time at Bloom! was an outstanding professional experience,” he said. “Pandox are absolutely committed to hotels, and that specialist knowledge and expertise really shows. When the opportunity came up at Hotel Berlin, Berlin, I couldn’t say no.”.

Most recently, he has worked with real estate company Ferrado, overseeing a portfolio of seven luxury properties in the US.

Hotel Berlin, Berlin specifically presents an exciting opportunity for Henningsen. “Hotel Berlin, Berlin totally fits with my values as a hotelier: doing things differently, and creating a fun, happening place that’s relevant to the local community. I’m excited to see what more I can do with that.”

Jan clearly has big plans for Hotel Berlin, Berlin, but what’s top of his agenda? “For me, it’s about building on the sense of community we already have here: strengthening existing relationships with partners and hosts, and forging new friendships. I can’t wait.”
